So what do festival lovers wish from a music festival? Is it tremendous dance music so folk can have fun all evening, ear bleeding heavy metal music for serious moshing or some magnificent soft folk music while you tan in the lovely sun? What’s farther principal really is the kind of atmosphere that folk are looking for, the line ups & the facilities, all of which at different festivals vary a lot. The key music festivals goes into swing kind of at the tail end of spring beginning of June they go on up and down the GB beach towns so there are always going to be a tremendous festival that is nearby to festival lovers. If there is a particular sheet music that you cannot find at your local music stores or anywhere else, you can make a request to the Congressional Library in Washington, DC. There is a small fee, but could be worth it, depending on how bad you want the music. The other day I saw a movie with Samuel Jackson playing the guitar. I searched the internet, the music stores, etc., but was told the music was no longer in print. I put in a request to the Congressional Library and was able to actually request the guitar tablature for one of the songs that was out of print. Since I know how to read guitar tabs, this was perfect for me.

Some great displays like that of the “The Blitz” & “The Holocaust” are tremendously heartbreaking. Check out Time Out today for the latest London Attractions.

They say that one must not create oil paintings from photos of trees.  This is because everything exists beautifully in the medium called light.  Both color and shade are best seen under light.  But a photograph, on the other hand, is a poor substitute for the actual real-life, visual experience.

Light is undeniably the greatest medium.  But with the advent of digital camera and digital photography, even the smallest detail of a subject can be captured.  And light can be clearly included in the photo so as to make it life-like.

Professional artists used to create paintings of trees by standing before their subject for long hours.  But when rain comes or when wind blows through the branches of their subject, everything changes including their focus and concentration.  With photos, branches are made still, trees are frozen, allowing the artist to capture everything in one sitting.

The movie is designed to be uplifting and inspirational, but everything about it is tired and listless. It doesnt so much make you feel the spirit as drain it out of you. First Sunday is a buy dvd movie about forgiveness that asks its audience to forgive too much — with regard to both its characters and its makers. Combining the hijinks of the Friday series with the spiritual bent of Tyler Perrys work seems like an obvious move. For producer/star Ice Cube, its also a dishonest one. didnt pry so much as a giggle from my lips until 42 minutes in Loretta Devine and Olivia Cole shine out as veteran members of the flock, but even their class combined is no saving grace. As the mind wanders during the first chuckle-free half-hour of the Ice Cube comedy First Sunday, a thought occurs: Shouldnt you have to win an Oscar before you make a movie this bad?

Whats not to believe? A lot. But asking for bolted logic and dramatic structure in such a movie is about like asking former Fed chief Alan Greenspan to open a mosh pit in Miami. Anyway, the money in the bank here is Keaton. Whenever theres buy dvd movies stunt-movie casting with divergent generations of Hollywood stars, theres bound to be trouble at the multiplex. How about a little creativity, like maybe wadding up and flushing the bills down the toilet, to be picked up later in the sewer? The movie makes robbing the Fed look about as tough as finding an episode of Full House on TV. Everyone in the cast treads water, acting-wise — theres nothing else to do — except for Latifah, who brings passion to her work. This is an odd, disposable movie it melts away as you leave the theater, leaving nothing but vague dissatisfaction behind. Mad Money> proves both fresh and funny and, in an odd way, uplifting in its moral ambiguity.

At first glance, the djembe may appear to be a generic percussion instrument, but it is far from ordinary. You would be hard pressed to find one drum that could provide such a variety of sounds. From a fast tympani sound while slapping the outer edges to a deep bass “boom” from a strong strike to the center, a remo djembe can be used in almost any music. While they are commonly used in reggae music and associated with its African roots, they are common in orchestral pits and are becoming commonplace in church music groups. It is a great drum for beginners to learn on, and the develop over many years.

Buy I’m Not There dvd becomes another boomer ode to the cultural supremacy of the sixties. The film is embracingly original its also mystifying, overlong and at times nearly incoherent. Floating at a distance from its audience, it creates its own smoky logic. I appreciate Haynes craft and ambition. I love the Ledger/Gainsbourg scenes, which are sweet and sad and delicately shaded. And Blanchetts inspired not-quite-impersonation of Dylan is reason enough to tussle with the rest of it. Despite its artistic gambles and the intellectual arguments its sure to generate, Im Not There doesnt even have the power of a vacuum. Its all there on the surface. Im Not There offers up a daring conceit and then falls apart trying to fulfill it. What emerges is a speculative, critical essay about the 60s, weighted down in spots by political correctness and a conflicted desire to mock Dylans denseness while catering to his hardcore fans, but otherwise lively, fluid, and watchable.

Mystery monster really mad at Manhattan on rampage, making the collective audience skin crawl and leaving you with sweaty palms and clenched teeth, no matter what row youre sitting in. As insipid as the characters are, you do tend to get caught up in their plight. Cloverfield dvd Trailer A jolt to the genre. The camera tumbles, the smoke billows, gigantic footsteps thunk, women shriek and the car alarms blare. And we are there. I, for one, would be using the F-bomb far more gratuitously if faced with a possible encounter with a creature that could well swallow me whole. Shut out the massive hype, admittedly easier said than done, and Cloverfield is a terrific monster movie for our age. The fleeting, incomplete glimpses of the monster early on prove the old dictum of B-movie auteur Val Lewton that a momentary image can have greater impact than a prolonged one.

Hillary Swank makes the best of her lonely heart role but never gets to take off the gloves in an entertaining romantic drama.
P.S. I Love You dvd is as treacly as the title would suggest. Supporting she-wolf Lisa Kudrow steals the show. The emotional tug is lost in uninspired dialogue, trite situations, and some plot twists that defy credulity while exploring the limits of tedious convention Even fans of the romantic comedy genre might have trouble suspending disbelief for this ridiculous bit of fluff that rarely knows whether it wants to be a serious drama about grieving or a light comedy about finding love. A romantic dramedy that stumbles through its excruciatingly Oscar-padded 126-minute running time with no end in sight. You could go see P.S. I Love You, or you could hit yourself on the head with a meat mallet.

If Tyler Perry ever wanted to turn Dog Day Afternoon into a treacly after-school special, it would probably end up looking a lot like this. Has more bathroom humor than an elementary school cafeteria and so many stereotypes up the wazoo that the wazoo is officially full. First Sunday dvd Trailer If theres a God, First Sunday will be the last of its kind for Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan, who deserve better than this wannabe screwball comedy about small-time crooks knocking over a church. Devilish satire outing felons who come in gaudy three piece suits too, a sweltering church hotter than Satans toenails and Sunday sermon sidebars that all the rest makes go down easy. Getting religion in the end is no excuse for a parade of bad taste. First Sunday, a self-described funny and heartwarming comedy, stumbles in the comedy department, but fills the hearts collection plate with a strong inspirational finish.

Covering too much ground in too little time leaves the film feeling shallow and inchoate. Come back, Eragon–all is forgiven! Golden Compass Blu-ray It packs enough fun and fantasy to keep the kid in you entertained and engaged. And we can always hope that the sequel will try to tackle some of the fascinating and more complex ideas from the book. Bland treatment of round one of Philip Pullmans His Dark Materials trilogy. Wanting to appeal to a broad audience especially young teens is more than fine. Its admirable. But soulful, philosophical 13-year-olds do exist. They do! And they can even handle a religious discussion with lots of words involved. Maybe we were all expecting too much. While competent, The Golden Compass joins that catalogue of so-so Narnia/Potter wannabes whose members include Lemony Snicket, Eragon and the recent Stardust.

Im not sure Daniel Day-Lewis performance represents the best acting of 2007, but it certainly represents the most acting of the past year. We have grown used to tales about what is won in conquest. What still shakes the American character at its core are tales such as this one, about what is lost. There Will Be Blood DVD Andersons most mature and ambitious film yet…though his growth as a filmmaker remains hindered by an obsession with effect and a disinterest in depth. At its most forthright, however, There Will Be Blood is a rich character study of a fascinating individual who is by turns likable, loathsome, admirable, monstrous, and driven. Its as if you can feel the oil flowing under the ground, bubbling, seeking a weak patch of earth from which to spew. But, the climactic emotional equivalent never occurs. I hate the way the film forces us into its epic structure and purposefully fractured narrative as if the audience is a puppy having its little nose shoved in a puddle of its own making.

Love the play, but this film adaptation left a bad taste in my mouth. Similar to watching a movie about cattle being killed and cut up at a slaughter house, but more entertaining. Buy Sweeney Todd DVD This black cauldron of a film, with its spider-blood visual scheme, may be the purest example of imagemaking the movies have given us in far too long. The whole experience is underwhelming, except for the violence, which is entirely overwhelming. Deserves kudos for attempting to bring a cerebral and extremely violent story, told almost entirely in song, to the multiplex masses. Its just a shame that, ironically, theres little humanity beneath Sweeney Todds sumptuous outer pastry.

Terrifically acted, superbly written and masterfully directed by the Coen Brothers, this is an incredibly suspenseful thriller that looks set for Oscar glory come February. Click to read the article No Country For Old Men DVD This movie is that stunning. Its the unexpected nature of the characters and what happens to them that makes this return to form from the Coen Brothers both intriguing and satisfying. Dont believe the hype. The most unsatisfying conclusion to a film since the final episode of The Sopranos. And that which led up to it wasnt so great either. People are calling it the best film of the year, and if it isnt, its darn close.
